

Harpal Kaur Bhattel, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025 at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Known for her kindness, her strength, her wit, and the warmth she brought to every room she entered. Harpal was the heart of her family and guiding light to all who knew her. She was affectionately known to her family as Bibi.
Born in Village Singha Di Salodhi of Ludhiana District, Punjab, India, Bibi grew up surrounded by strong family values and a deep sense of community. Throughout her life, she carried these values with grace, resilience, and dedication.
Bibi was the devoted wife of the late Gajjan Singh Chairman Bhattel and a cherished mother to Ranjit Kaur Mann (Bhattel), the late Satwant Singh Bhathal and his wife Jasbir Kaur Bhathal.
Her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved grandchildren, Navdeep Singh Mann, Kamaldeep Kaur Prentice (Glen), Sabrina Kaur Mann (Mai Aung), Iqbal Singh Bhathal (Harpreet), Avtar Singh Bhathal, and Dilpreet Kaur Bhathal who brought endless light to her life.
Bibi is also deeply loved by her great-grandchildren, Cruz Mann, Prabh Singh Bhathal, Manav Singh Bhathal, Nessa Kaur Prentice, Kaia Kaur Prentice and Elliana Kaur Aung.
Bibi shared especially close bonds with her sisters, the late Prakash Kaur, the late Randheer Kaur, the late Balbir Kaur and Surjit Kaur. Their connection was built on unwavering support for one another. Bibi often spoke fondly of them, cherishing memories they created together, from their childhood days in Punjab to many family milestones they celebrated side by side. She also held in her heart the memory of her youngest brother, Pritpal Singh Mann, who passed away at a very young age and is lovingly remembered by the family.
Bibi will also be fondly remembered by her many nephews and nieces, whom she deeply cared and cherished as her own.
Bibi leaves behind a family who will forever honor her legacy of compassion, strength and devotion. She was immensely proud of her grandchildren and the lives they built, always celebrating their accomplishments with joy. Her presence, guidance, and love will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and will be cherished forever.
The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the home care staff who supported and cared for Bibi over the past five years. Their kindness, dedication, and compassion provided comfort and dignity during her later years, and their presence in her life was deeply appreciated.
