Irene Alice Bonne

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Irene Alice Bonne on June 23, at the Riverview Health Centre. A private Family service will be held at a later date.

Irene is survived by her sons Ron (Louise), Jim (Glenda), and Brian, grandchildren Ryan (Jen), Ashley, Mark (Alison), Lesley, Samantha and her mother Laura, great grandchildren Cedar, Brynn, April, Rielle, Yve, Kylan, Kedan and Grafton. She was predeceased by her parents Emerance and Gustaf Vermeulen, husband Ed and son Terry, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mom had a heart of gold and a beautiful smile. She was a devoted Wife, Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother and wonderful partner to Dad on the farm. In their early years Mom and Dad travelled to Belgium, many hot spots in the Caribbean and throughout the USA. She was kind, happy, enjoyed life, and her faith was important to her. She loved to cook and was an amazing baker. The smell of her fresh apple pie, (or anything baking) was delightful and it was her specialty. Spending time with her family was always a highlight. She kept healthy and liked going for really long walks. Just a few of her hobbies when she was younger were playing Belgium bowling and 5 pin bowling. Then later on when life slowed down, she liked to watch curling on T.V. or go to the Assiniboine Downs to play the ponies and just spend time with Dad. Life was good. When she moved from the farm she met many friends at Armadale Hollows, Adamar and Delta Manor, where she played bingo, whist, cribbage, and loved her crafts on Tuesday afternoons.

Mom, there is only one way to describe you, and that is you were “Simply the Best!” (Song by Tina Turner) We all love you and you will forever be missed!

Special thanks to Doctor Rolland Hayward for over 40 years of caring for Mom. Doctor Annie Gong, Jennifer and the palliative care Nurses, as well as the amazing team at Riverview Health Centre. We would also like to thank Elizabeth and Olivia from Home Care, her sister Alice, granddaughter Samantha and her

hairdresser Mona.
