Irene Louise Lawson

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Irene. Mom passed away with loving family by her side on Sunday August 25,2013 at the age of 93.

She was predeceased by her husband Roderick and grandson Corrie Jr.

Irene is survived by her daughters Marjorie (Cass), Heather (Corrie), Sandra (Connie), Sherry, and son George (Elaine), 14 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Irene was born in Neepawa Manitoba on June 23, 1920. She moved to Melita Manitoba where she met and married Roderick and then on to Winnipeg where she lived for many years at their home in the Elmwood area. Mom was a very caring and gentle soul who only saw the good in people. She was always so loving and ready to share whatever she had, however meager it was, never putting herself first.

Well done Mom, a life well lived. A mom's hug lasts long after she lets go. Thank you Mom for everything.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday August 30, 2013 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.

A special thanks to the Munroe Pharmacy for their service and care over the years, and also to Dr. Welch and Dr. Fotti.
