Jean Elizabeth Thom

(Nee Anderson)

Peacefully, on July 21, 2023 at the age of 96 years, Jean Elizabeth Thom passed away at the St. Norbert Personal Care Home with family by her side.

Jean was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Matilda Anderson; husband George (Jack) Thom; her sons George (Jack) Jr. and Garry Thom; Daughter-in-Law Carol Thom; grandson Gerry Thom, as well as her two brothers Alex and Stan Anderson.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Darlene Solvason; Daughter-in-Law Doreen Thom; Grandchildren Richard (Amy) Thom, Bonny (Dave) Thom, David Thom, Tyler Solvason and Gerry Thom’s wife Marina. As well as 13 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren.

Jean worked at Federated Coop Ltd. For approximately 20 years. She enjoyed travelling and spending time at the cottages in Brereton Lake and Belair.

The family wishes to thank the staff of St. Norbert Personal Care Home as well as her longtime friend, Connie Baldwin for the care provided to Jean prior to her moving into the Personal Care Home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice

A Memorial Service to celebrate Jean will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Thomson Funeral Home, 669 Broadway. Interment at Brookside Cemetery to follow.
