Jerry was born on September 6, 1951, in the Philippines, where his life began surrounded by family, tradition, and a strong sense of purpose. He later made Winnipeg his home, where he built a beautiful life rooted in love, faith, and quiet resilience. He worked for the City of Winnipeg for 35 years, earning the respect of colleagues through his calm presence, dedication, and integrity.
Jerry will be lovingly remembered by his devoted wife and best friend, Connie, with whom he shared a life full of love, partnership, and unwavering support for 39 years. Together they raised their beloved son, Timothy (wife Rika), who brought immense joy and pride into Jerry’s life.
He is also dearly missed by his sons Gerald (Partner Karin, carrying Grandson to be) and Hercules (wife Angie), and his cherished granddaughters Olivia and Sonya, who brought light and laughter to his days. His brother Julius (wife Angie), along with extended family and treasured friends, hold his memory close to their hearts.
Jerry was a gentle soul who found joy in life’s simplest, yet most meaningful, moments. He had a deep love for music and often filled the home with the soft strum of his guitar and the warmth of his singing voice. Even in the hospital, he continued to sing—bringing comfort to those around him and revealing the strength of his spirit.
He also found peace in his Japanese-inspired backyard garden, which he lovingly tended with care and pride. A man of deep faith, Jerry drew strength from Bible study and quiet reflection. Most of all, he cherished time with his family—sharing meals, laughter, and the kind of everyday moments that meant the world to him.
Jerry has gone home to be with the Lord and is reunited with their beloved dog, Nikko. Though we grieve his loss deeply, we are comforted in knowing he is at peace and surrounded by love.
A small, intimate gathering of close family and friends will be held to celebrate Jerry’s life and honor the legacy he leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to remember Jerry by doing something he loved—planting something beautiful, enjoying a meal with your loved ones, or pausing for a quiet moment of gratitude.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at Health Sciences Centre. Their kindness, care, and support in Jerry’s final days brought great comfort and will always be remembered with deep appreciation. Jerry will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered. His spirit lives on in the music he played, the garden he nurtured, and the love he gave so generously.
