Mrs. Joan Forde Defreitas

NEE FORDE

Peacefully with her family by her side Joan DeFreitas passed away at St. Boniface Hospital on March 27, 2013 at the age of 62.

She will be sadly missed by her husband Roger, daughters Rochelle Thornhill and Alysia DeFreitas, Granddaughter Charleze Thornhill, mother Leah Forde, siblings Ernestine, Norma, Dawnley, Stanley, John, Desmond, James and Andrew as well as numerous nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her father Dawnley Forde and her brother Alfred Forde.

Joan immigrated to Canada in 1981 from her birth country Guyana South America. She was the fourth child from a family of 12 children. She worked at Charleswood Care Center and home care for the last 27 years of her life. Joan was a hard working bubbly woman. She enjoyed cooking and keeping her friends and family well fed. She was a humble and easy going person with a great sense of humor.

Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. Friday April 5, 2013 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Winnipeg MB.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday April 6 at Thomson “In the Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Winnipeg MB.
