Peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital, John passed away at age 87 years.
John was born in Maple Ridge, B.C. and relocated to Manitoba in 1942. He was predeceased by his parents Jisaburo and Shimae Nakano, sisters Shizue Nakano, Fumiye Gyotoku, Kasumi Okabe. He is survived by his wife Yae, daughters Shirley Sinnock (Randy), Peggy Murphy, grand-children Kyle, Kelli, Cameron(Beatrice), James(Hasantha), sisters Katsue Nagamatsu,
Kiyo Nagamatsu, Asaye Amemori, and numerous nieces and nephews.
John was a certified welder, employed at CN rail, Manitoba Bridge Engineering Works and City of Winnipeg. He enjoyed many years of gardening, bowling, golfing. Upon retiring he travelled with Yae to Florida, Texas, and his favorite, Hawaii. Baseball was his favored T.V. sport and
he enjoyed playing video sports with his grandchildren.
The family thanks the compassionate staff at St. Boniface Hospital and friends at the Riverwood Square Retirement Centre. Cremation has taken place. A service will take place at 10 a.m. on December 20, 2012 at Thomson “In the Park” 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
