Sending my condolences to Vera, family and friends. I often had the pleasure of reading weekly letters from one of his friends. I also would read prayers to Larry as well. Every time I read to him, I could always tell he was grateful for it. Larry is missed dearly. May his soul rest in peace. 💛

 I worked for many years with Larry. He was an incredible person. He was so kind, gentle, extremely calm even under some very challenging situations. Many of us appreciated his wise and sage advice as we worked at solving some complex problems.  He left such a positive impact on the students, families and staff who crossed his path. His smile and laughter was contagious. I truly enjoyed working with Larry. He will be greatly missed!!

I had the pleasure of meeting Larry a few times, being friends with his daughter Naomi and her husband Darren. What strikes me about Larry is his absolute interest in the conversation you were having with him. He was an amazing listener, although his stories absolutely captivated anyone within ear shot. One of the most brilliant minds I have had the pleasure of meeting and was saddened to hear of his passing. RIP. 

I first met Larry as a young teacher in the Assiniboine South School Division and always enjoyed chatting and working with him. It was so lovely to reconnect with Larry and his warm smile years later at Victoria Beach.  He was such a genuine and kind man.

Larry was a man of integrity, compassion and commitment to his family, his faith, and his profession.  He was a professional colleague and became a close personal friend and confidant as we both started out on our post graduate careers. Although our personal  connections drifted apart as our career paths went in different directions I’ve never forgotten the positive influences he had on my life and the lives of so many others who were fortunate enough to have known him.  My heartfelt condolences. 

My name is Doreen Wuckert. I was a teacher at Royal School, one of the schools where Larry worked. I worked quite closely with Larry to help  one student in particular who was in my class. Larry was always so gentle, caring, patient and kind with this  troubled boy. I admired his spiritual approach to students and his loving ways.
He was a great asset to Assiniboine South School Division. His contributions to these schools and their students was immense.
He will be sorely missed.

Larry was a memorable deeply compassionate professor - I took his course “Psychology of Religion” circa 1978. He listened, cared, engaged, and the smile on his obituary took me back to that special place he created with his presence. A genuine and lovely man. May he rest In peace. 

Sending condolences, love and prayers to the Cooley family from myself, my Mom Della Purdy, and all our extended family. Larry was always such a joy to visit with at family gatherings, and an inspiration as a man of deep faith. Rest eternal, grant unto Larry, oh Lord, and let light perpetual shine upon him. May his soul, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, Rest In Peace. Amen. 

AS a  littlie boy  cousin  Larry    was  like another  brother    to me  .  I    yearned so much   to see my  closest  cousin   and   I often  took the bus  from Shoal Lake    to Minnesdosa   Manitoba to spend  time  with     Larry and my dear  aunt  Elsie   his mother  
  In adult life  our families    spent  many   close bonded years  at Victoria  Beach     Larry's     favourite place  of    restoration and    joy

I remember when Naiomi and Rebeccah met. They were both 4 years old, tops. You and I were on our bikes and had pulled up beside each other to chat. They were on the little plastic kiddy seats on the back. They gazed across the intervening 3 feet and decided to become fast friends. I don't know how kids communicate these things, but they do. 

I know you're perched on a cloud looking down, and your only sorrow is for us, because we can't see your physical body any more.  When I get there we can figure out how to tune a harp. I presume they allow electronic guitar tuners in heaven.

Larry was not just family to me but was also the light that helped me through the darkest time of my life.  His gentle demeanour and guidance helped me through the last 15 years.
 
Thank You Uncle Larry.   Rest Well knowing you touched so many people.
