Lorna was first and foremost a wife and mother to her family. She had a love of learning and graduated from the University of Winnipeg Child Care program in 1988. In her career she worked as a child care worker, program supervisor and acting director.
Throughout her life Lorna found the time to brighten her community through volunteering. She was known for her giving heart and would share generously of her garden, canning, baking and natural talents with others. She had an incredible green thumb and her garden where she worked alongside her husband was a source of pride. Her other interests included sewing, birdwatching, sketching, poetry, theatre and opera.
Her positivity was contagious and she loved her family unconditionally, they were her greatest source of joy. Her memory will live on through her numerous acts of kindness and connections she developed with others. She had a love of animals and all creatures big and small and they will also miss her presence.
Lorna is survived by her loving husband of 58 years Raymond: children Michael (Kareena), Colleen(Sean): grandchildren Austen and Taylor: sister Shirley and brothers Barry and Allan (Sharon).
The family would like to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Seven Oakes Hospital.
In respect of her wishes there will be no funeral. Family will be invited to grave side service and celebration of Lorna's life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
