Survived by his sons, Connor James and Brody James, his sister Daphne James, nieces Colleen James (great nephews Cain Simard and Colm James) and Emma James, along with his cousin and countless number of friends and colleagues.
Born in Edmonton, Alberta, Marcus was a very energetic youth, involved in both junior hockey and soccer. In 1975, Marcus moved with is family to Israel while his father was on sabbatical, which opened up his deep understanding of other cultures enriching his love for knowledge of all humanity.
In 1977 when his mom and step-father married, the new family dynamics then moved to North Vancouver, BC, where Marcus thrived in the outdoor environment that the lower mainland offers. He continued to play soccer until his new found sport of downhill skiing became his absolute passion, joining the Grouse Mountain Tyee Ski Club when he was a young teenager.
While attending high school at Seycove Secondary School in Deep Cove, he was very well known for being the class clown (which of course ended him attending the principals’ office numerous times), and having his moniker being bestowed upon him - Dingus.
After high school, Marcus took on many jobs such as tree planter (Northern BC) and door-to-door vacuum salesperson until he enrolled into Capilano University (formally then known as a college) to brush up on his academics, his true passion in life was revealed to him; the film industry. Marcus then moved on to the Vancouver Film School where he flourished learning the art of the camera.
Joining Local 699, Marcus worked on numerous TV shows and movies such as Air Bud: Golden Receiver, Final Destination 2, A Wrinkle in Time, and Smallville, working his way up from assistant camera to focus puller to A camera operator.
In 2007, Marcus and his boys moved to Winnipeg, Manitoba where the film industry was just starting to get off the ground. He continued to make his mark working on notable shows/movies as Less Than Kind, Jack, Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story, Channel Zero, Burden of Truth, Ordinary Angels and his last movie, Psycho Killer.
Marcus continued to love the outdoors with his boys taking them snowboarding, ice fishing and boating.

Psalm 139:23-24: Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my concerns. See if there is any offensive way in me; lead me in the everlasting way.
God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and the Wisdom to know the difference.
