He leaves behind his son Simon (Lesley); daughter Lisa (Andrew); grandchildren Luke, Kristen and Robin; sisters Francis (Richard) and Ann; as well as many nieces and nephews. Mike was predeceased by his wife Dora and his brother-in-law Barry.
Mike was born and educated in Bristol, England. Dora and Mike married in 1959, then began their journey to find a home in Canada. After living in many cities from coast to coast, they settled for many years in Kelowna before returning to Winnipeg in their final years, so as to be close to their children. Always a gentle soul, Mike touched many lives in his journeys and we know the world he leaves behind is a little better for his having been here.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at both the Victoria General Hospital and Golden Door for their compassionate care given to Mike over the course of his illness.
