Noreen was born on February 29, 1928 in Victoria, BC. Noreen was the eldest daughter of nine children and lived a happy childhood in Victoria. After graduating from high school she met the love of her life, John. They married on October 5, 1950 and shortly thereafter moved to Winnipeg where they raised their family of five children. Noreen was a devoted spouse, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. One of her greatest joys was being surrounded by her family and friends. She will always be remembered for her warmth and ability to make everybody feel welcomed. Her extraordinary cooking and baking were enjoyed by many. She was also a wonderful seamstress. She shared many of these talents with her family and friends. Noreen was very young at heart and willing to do anything with her children and grandchildren.
Noreen was a devout Christian and was very active in the Chinese United Church. Her profound faith inspired her daily life and was a comfort to her during her illness.
A celebration of Noreen’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Thomson “In The Park” Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
