She bore seven wonderful children and was blessed by the Almighty to have the love and attention of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Padmini Singh was like a banyan tree providing solace and relief to all from the fury of life. She was an epitome of immense courage and fortitude and bore the vicissitudes of life with equanimity and poise, always believing in the overwhelming presence of Providence. A person of great dignity and valour, her going away has made many feel orphaned. A Lawrencian (Lovedale school, Ooty, India) of the 1930’s, she was a harbinger of happiness, optimism and hope. For the family, the sun has set but in the process kindled many candles for brightness. Her benevolence will shower on all from the Lord’s paradise.
Her daughter Dr. Geeta Srivastava, son in law Dr. Om Srivastava, son Mr. Ashok Singh, grandson Dr. Anuraag Shrivastav, granddaughter in law Dr. Shailly Varma Shrivastav and great granddaughter Avya Shrivastav were with her when she passed away. She was living with her grandson in Winnipeg fighting lung cancer for past eight months. Her passing was peaceful and painless. May her good and kind soul be with God in all righteousness.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 1 at 2:00 pm at the “Thomson In the Park Funeral Home and Cemetery”, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg, followed by a memorial service at 7:00 pm at the Hindu Temple on 999 St Anne's Rd., Winnipeg.
Should friends desire, contributions may be sent to the “Siloam Mission” in memory of Mrs. Padmini Singh.
