Mrs. Palmina Torchia

Palmina was born in Sorianello, Italy on May 20, 1937 to Maria and Vincenzo DeCaria. She married Raffaele Torchia on August 20, 1961 and moved to Canada in 1967 with their son Luigi(Gino) Torchia. Palmina worked at Peerless garments from 1967 to 1995 as a quality control inspector until she retired. Palmina's greatest joy was being with her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking, knitting and going to the cottage, her greatest joy in life was being around family during the holidays.

Palmina has 1 brother Victor and 3 sister's Mariana, Rosina and Gesina and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral mass will be held on Friday, April 29 at 11:00 am at the Holy Rosary Parish Church, 510 River Avenue with Rev. Fr. Sam Argenziano as the Celebrant. Viewing and condolences will begin at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow in the Chapel of Eternal Memories Mausoleum at the Waverley Memorial Gardens, 1501 Waverley Street.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Masi, Vincenzo DeCaria, Francesco Grande, Andy Fietz, Edward Girden and James Girden.

The family would like to thank the nurses and care givers, especially Diane at the Poseidon Care Home for their support and help.
