In loving memory of our father, Paul Stanley Mulla who passed away on Dec 26 2025. He was the devoted husband of Shirley Anne Mulla and loving father to his three sons Matthew, Mark (Terry), and Luke. In addition to his immediate family, he leaves behind 2 grand daughters Kristin (Matt), Bethany and 5 great grandchildren Benjamin, Lyric, Carter, Eden and Ezekiel.
Paul was born in Highland Glen and grew up in and around the Tyndall Garson area. He was a middle child with 5 brothers, John, Henry, Albert, Joseph and Edward. He also had two sisters Francis and Gladys.
Early in life, Paul learned the importance of hard work and after a short time with Gillis Quarries and Ontario Highways, he settled into a career with Transport Canada. He retired from there in 1988 after 35 years of service.
During his time with Transport Canada, he travelled all over northern Ontario, Manitoba and Saskatchewan as well as the Yukon and Northwest Territories doing survey work.
Although he lived and worked in Winnipeg, he always maintained a home in Tyndall and eventually moved there permanently and stayed there well into his retirement.
Paul was a multi-talented person who always liked to keep himself busy. He was always building or fixing things. He built on and expanded the house he lived in both in Winnipeg and in Tyndall as well as building a cabin from scratch north of Tyndall on PTH 435.
He built numerous pieces of furniture including his own pool table. He even built his own aeroplane and had CBC film it flying. He was a man of many talents and there wasn’t much he couldn’t do. He was always tinkering on something.
When Paul wasn’t working on his own projects he was quick to jump in and help anyone on one of theirs. He loved to work. He said it kept him young.
He also had a love of music and could be found plucking away at a violin, mandolin, banjo or harmonica whenever there was one of the many family events. Especially after a beer or shot of rye. He loved those too and was always quick to offer you one along with some home smoked deer sausage whenever you came by.
Later in life Paul and Shirley made two trips to Poland to meet family and visit the area where his father came from. He loved hearing the history and that he got to use his Polish language skills that he thought he had lost.
One of the kindest souls on this planet, our father was a gentle, giving man who worked tirelessly to ensure that his family had everything they needed. Our father was a true role model who we will always look up to. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Father, you are now at peace but you will live on forever in our hearts. We love you so much. Rest in peace.
The funeral service will be held at Klassen Funeral Home 1897 Henderson Highway on January 7th from 11:30 am till 1:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Down Syndrome Society in memory of Patricia Kostelnyk.
