Rhadahwattie Jacobus

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of Rhada Jacobus, who fought a long hard and courageous battle with dementia. A cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter and sister-in-law, she passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Rhada was predeceased by parents Dawn and Babu Lall; brothers Dr Moti Lall, Ishwer Lall, Jai Lall and sister Mavis Lall. She will be missed by her sister Eunice who resides in Toronto.

Rhada leaves behind her husband Fitzgerald, her two sons Arnold and Romel (Mary Ann) and her granddaughters Kaylie and Monroe.

Rhada was born on May 2, 1943, Buxton, Guyana, South America. In 1974, she immigrated to Canada through a sponsorship. A dedicated and hardworking woman, Rhada quickly secured employment as a machine operator at Reliance Products. She took great pride in her work—never calling in sick and always arriving at least 40 minutes early for her shift. Over her more than 25 years with the company, she formed many lasting friendships. Rhada retired at the age of 65.

Rhada enjoyed listening to oldies music, watching soap operas, and tuning into game shows. She loved dancing and taking leisurely walks, and during the summer, she enjoyed fishing. She also had a deep love for caring for her plants. On weekends we often found her in the kitchen, baking treats for the family. After retiring, she took pleasure in joining bus tours to the casino.

Rhada was known for her kind heart and gentle spirit. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.

Funeral Service will be on Monday, June 2, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd, Winnipeg.
