Scott Richard Naujoks

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our Partner, Brother and Son, Scott Richard Naujoks. Love of his life Kierstyn was by his side. He is also survived by his brothers Brendan and Riley, and his parents Michelle and Richard and his dog Brady.

Born December 27,1991 Scotty was always a great kid. So sweet from the very beginning and independent from a young age. He attended Whyte Ridge Elementary School followed by Henry G Izatt, St Pauls High School and finally the Universities of Manitoba and Winnipeg making many friends along the way. Scott was finishing up a business degree and was considering a career in the family business.

Five years ago Scott met Kierstyn Bakker. They shared a home with their dog Brady and were beginning to plan a future together. She was the love of his life.

Scott enjoyed a love of sports from a young age starting with mini soccer and moving on to mini volleyball, school volleyball and club volleyball winning two National championships with the Winman Volleyball club. At age 11 he discovered football which would also become a lifelong passion. After the age 17 he decided that Football was his playing future, and after High School, he went onto play with the Manitoba Bisons for 2 years and moved over to the Winnipeg Rifles for another 3 years. As his playing career ended, Scott took to coaching both of the sports he loved so much. He coached volleyball with Winman for 6 years, and football with the St. Paul’s Crusaders and eventually onto his current position with the Manitoba Bisons as a receiver coach. With his outgoing personality, he embraced every player he coached, and always wanted those players with heart and determination, just like his own.

His most favorite place was our family cottage at Twin Lakes Beach where he enjoyed building marsh forts, spending hours in the water and all the many parties, birthdays and other fun events with his cousins and all his Twin Beach Family. He had just acquired his boating license and was looking forward to riding the waverunner next summer and to snowmobiling this winter. Many great family times were also spent at Clear Lake.

Scotty always stuck by his friends and was the life of the party. To his brothers he was their Superman. He was always so protective of them when they were younger, and as they all grew up, they would spend many days playing football or video games together. They were best friends.

We would like to give our thanks to the staff at the Victoria Hospital Chemo department for their compassion and caring. We would also like to thank the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and the staff at the Grace hospital Emergency Department for doing all that they could for Scott.

There will be a celebration of life for Scott, October 17, 2021, in a tent open to outdoors at the Bel Acres Golf Club at 1 PM. If you so choose, we would love it if you could wear your favorite sporting jersey. Please bring proof of vaccination. You can shed tears that he is gone, or you can smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back, or you can do what he would want, smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
