It is with great sadness that we announce Susan’s passing following a decline from Cancer on July 4, 2024, at the age of 68. Susan will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Sarah (Jose) and Samantha (Liam). She had been married to her husband Ron for 43 years, but was unfortunately widowed two years ago.
Susan developed a love for music early on and had fond memories of playing the piano, recorder and harp in her youth with her music group, the Prairie Consort. She worked for many years as a music teacher at Strathmillan School and later retired to dedicate her time to raising her family. Summers spent with her family at the cottage in Sandy hook were her favourite; where there was always a puzzle in progress.
Her many interests included reading, needlepoint, meeting friends for coffee, and a lifelong pursuit to learn Spanish. She also loved to travel and made many friends over the years in Mexico and Palm Springs. Her ability to connect with people wherever she went was something she inherited from her father. She was gracious and welcoming to everyone she met. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
We would like to thank the staff at St. Boniface hospital and Cancer Care for their compassionate care. We also want to sincerely thank those that supported Susan through her final days. Your kindness and support was appreciated during this difficult time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Endowment fund at St.
Boniface hospital or Habitat for Humanity Manitoba.
