July7 1972-June5 2023
It is with great sadness the Jones family announces The sudden passing of their Son and Brother Troy Trevor Jones.
Troy was born July7 1972 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He is survived by his Mother Alice Jones and his Siblings Sisters: Lesley Butler (Jim) and Wendy (Morris) and Brothers: Christopher (Heather) and Wayne.
He is pre-deceased by his Grandparents Raoul Gosselin (1967) and Aurore Gosselin nee LaPlante (1975)
Troy grew up in the Winnipeg neighborhood of Fort Rouge. He had a lighthearted, free spirited and adventurous personality and would often be found playing with his siblings at Mckittrick Park or down fishing, skipping rocks and building forts on the banks of the Red River.
He spent many wonderful summers camping with his family at Delta Beach where he enjoyed catching frogs, minnows & tadpoles, swimming in Lake Winnipeg and going on Adventure hikes. He loved the Wildlife and sitting by the campfire and spending time with his family.
He soon discovered he preferred the Great Outdoors to the Classroom. In his late teens, Troy decided it was time to spread his wings & set off West on a new adventure.
His preferred mode of travel was by way of road, and he visited many small towns and cities in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta along the way. Upon arriving in British Columbia, he fell in love with the Mountains, Ocean and openly embraced his Indigenous Heritage. He learned and participated in many Ceremonies and Events. Troy had an infectious smile, a great sense of humor and a friendly nature. To help fund his traveling and his lodging he easily found and worked temporary jobs such as laying rebar, demolition and cleaning cargo holds on large ships. He made many friends throughout the years. He travelled back to Manitoba when able to visit his family. Always just passing through on his way back to B.C or as far east as Montreal and called often to check on family. Never missing an opportunity to wish them Happy Birthday or other occasion, and getting updates on everything and everyone. His love for his family was Strong and sincere as was his family’s love for him.
He will also be missed by his many Nephews, Nieces, Extended family and friends.
Special Thank you to Christian, Mel & Eric, Melanie& Jonathan. You are all “Earthly Angels” and the Jones Family appreciates you.
