NEE AKRE
Peacefully with her family by her side, Wilma, a classy tall blond lady who always looked her best passed away at the Brummitt-Feasby ALS House on April 5, 2011 at the age of 70 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband Don of 51 years; her children Lana (Ralf and granddaughter Karina); Naomi (Doug) and Brett (Donna and grandchildren Tyler and Braydon). Her two uncles Allan and Clarence Tillenius; nephews Homer, Clinton, Richard and Allan and niece Judy.
She was predeceased by her brother Gerald, her mother Lillian and father Einar.
Wilma was born in Teulon Hospital, Nov. 26, 1940. A year later her family moved to Preeceville which was followed a short time later by their move to Flin Flon and then by their move to a farm outside of Warren. In Winnipeg, on January 4, 1958 she met the love of her life Don.
Wilma did secretarial work for her Uncle Clarence between 1965 and 1985 and then enjoyed working at MTS for ten years starting in 1991. Wilma enjoyed sewing, knitting, fishing, camping, dancing and playing the piano. In her most recent years, she enjoyed trips to the cottage, started golfing, line dancing and going for long walks with friends. Mom never had anything bad to say about anyone. She brightened us up with her positive attitude and with her natural way of bringing out the best in people’s health and mind. Wilma always did the right thing and always did things right.
