Dorothy "Dot" Reid Hemric

She was born in Forsyth County on September 2, 1929 to the late Pallis Eli Reid and Myrtle Mae Beshears Reid.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Grey Hemric. Dot was survived by her daughter, Patricia Dalton and husband, Roger; grandson, Scotty Dalton and wife, Stephanie; great grandchildren, Grey and Addie Dalton, all of Boone, NC; sisters, Earline Motsinger of Tobaccoville, and Peggy Jones of Stanleyville; and several beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline Long, and brothers, Howard Reid and Roger Reid.

Mrs. Hemric was a loyal member of Poplar Grove Baptist Church of Boone, where she loved to worship the Lord she served throughout her life. She was a devoted Christian, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to many.

A funeral service of Mrs. Hemric will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 1pm at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Rd, with Reverend Cecil Cave officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. The family will receive friends on hour prior to the service at noon.

A separate memorial service will be held on Sunday February 26, 2017 at Poplar Grave Baptist Church in Boone, NC at 3pm.
