Dr. Carlos Thomas Cooper, Jr., 99, of Winston Salem, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Kate B Reynolds Hospice House. He was born on December 29, 1926, in Clemmons, NC and was the son of the late Carlos T. Cooper Sr. and Edna Horn Cooper.
Carlos served our country in the United States Army under General George Patton and served in the Nuremberg war trials. After the war he became a Podiatrist and set up a successful practice in Winston-Salem for 50+ years. His love for Jesus Christ took him to many mission fields and local clinics using those talents given by God. Carlos was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church even into his last years.
In addition to his parents, Carlos is preceded in death by his first wife Peggy P Cooper, second wife Charlotte G Cooper, third wife Louvene B Cooper, and his eldest son Carlos T. Cooper III.
Carlos is survived by his children, Cherry Tull, Bradley Cooper (wife) Lisa, Stephanie Dawson, Debbie Cooper wife of late Carlos T Cooper III, Todd Nash, son of late Charlotte Cooper; Seven grandchildren, Carlos T Cooper IV, Kelsey Vernon, Catherine Tull, Sara Griffin and Jordan Cooper, Jacob Dawson, Rachel Dawson. Great grandchildren; Marley Rae Kluttz and Banks Dawson.
A celebration of life service will be held for family and friends at 2 pm on Saturday, March 14, 2026, at Vogler at Forsyth Memorial Park. Inurnment will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park.
