
She was born on October 2, 1918 in Reidsville, NC to Robert Irvin and Clara Blackwell Dailey. Frances graduated from Greensboro College with a degree in Art. A resident of Winston Salem, Frances was a talented artist in various mediums; her family still treasures the many paintings she produced over the years. Frances was an avid gardener and enjoyed her Bridge club for many years.
She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
Frances was predeceased by her husband Dr. Joseph C. Farthing and a son, Joseph C. Farthing Jr. Frances is survived by son John I. Farthing and wife Pamela Farthing of Apex, granddaughter Caroline Farthing of Raleigh, and grandson Joseph C. Farthing and his wife Jessica of Winston Salem.
For many years Frances was an active member of Centenary United Methodist Church and the Clay Sunday School class.
A private funeral service will be conducted at Arbor Acres.
