Georgia Poe Meadows

Georgia Poe Meadows, 95, passed away at her home May 1, 2016. She was born in Grayson Co., VA February 12, 1921 to the late Ellis & Ella Poe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Dewey O. Meadows, Jr., six sisters, three brothers, her step-son, David Meadows and his wife, Susan.

Georgia was a member of the American Rosie the Riveter Association. She loved her Heavenly Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, her family, gardening, music, and dancing.

She is survived by two daughters, Shirley Wheeler (Charles) and Brenda Hall; two grandsons, Dwayne Covington and Dustin Meadows (Amanda); great granddaughter, Madison; and a host of nieces and nephews.

A private graveside service will be held for Mrs. Meadows.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her honor to the charity of one’s choice.
