

Jack W. Blalock of Pfafftown passed away on Sunday, April 19th, 2015. Jack who was a good man and honorable husband, father, and grandfather will be greatly missed by all. Jack was born in Concord, NC on July 13, 1924. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Serrelza Moore Blalock; children, David Blalock and wife Debbie of Naperville, IL, Susan Blalock of Pfafftown, John Blalock and wife Merissa of Rural Hall, NC; grandchildren, Chad and wife Lisa, Cory and wife Teresa, Stormy, Chloe, and Nicholas; four great-grandchildren, Kayla, Maiya, Ava, and Colton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Effie Blalock and six siblings. Jack was a World War II Navy veteran, and a graduate of Virginia Tech. He retired from Western Electric where he served as a mechanical engineer for many years. He was a long time member of Beck’s Baptist Church, an avid golfer and gardener, and Jack loved his family dearly. He was an enthusiastic Tar Heel, Redskin and San Francisco Giants fan. A special thanks to the following care-givers: Joann, Mary, Gena, Darla, Candace, Darlene, Dreama, Jennifer, Lesa, and Shannon. The family will receive guests from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 22 at Voglers Reynolda Road Chapel. A graveside service will be held at Forsyth Memorial Park on Thursday, April 23 at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Beck’s Baptist Church or Hospice in his memory.
