

James was an active member of College Park Baptist Church. He served on several different committees that the Church undertook to do, especially Mountain Outreach in Kentucky to build a home for needy families. This brought love and joy to James’s heart & developed a wonderful friendship to the family & his friends at work.
James graduated from North Forsyth High School in 1985. He attended Forsyth Technical College and took auto mechanics & other subjects. He was employed by the State D.O.T for 19 years.
James enjoyed drag racing & met many nice friends & their families and expanded their friendship all through the years. He also won many trophies.
James was preceded in death by his father, Roger Stoneman. He is survived by his mother, Janette Stoneman; four special aunts, Mary Lee Swaim, Sadie Weavil, Nannie Johnson and Betty Cormette; two special friends, Charlie Jones and Lee Jones; several special cousins and their families; a special family from Mocksville, the Betty Caudle family.

Visitation for James will be on Tuesday, April 18th from 6-8pm at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home in Winston-Salem. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 19th at 1pm at College Park Baptist Church, Pastor Ramon Smith and Dr. Charles Edwards, officiating. Burial will follow funeral services at Forsyth Memorial Park.
