

Mr. John “PaPa John” Thurman Jobe, 62, of Clemmons, NC passed away July 6, 2010. He was born September 14, 1947 to the late Thurman “Barney” Jobe and Ruth J. Jobe.. He was a retired Major of the 1/116 INF 29 ID (L) in the National Guard. Mr. Jobe started a scholarship fund at East Tennessee State University for graduates of Northside High School in honor of his son who died at 18 years of age. He attended University of Miami and was a linebacker for the football team. Mr. Jobe also coached a Junior Midget team, the Lewisville Titans. He took the team to Florida and won 3rd place in the nation. He loved every single boy on the team and was an all around good guy. Mr. Jobe spent the last year of his life renovating the cottages of The American Children’s Home. He was preceded in death by his son, Aubrey Hunter Jobe and his father. He is survived by his wife, Doris Dean Jobe; daughter, Tracy Sharpe and husband, Rodney; his mother; a brother, Jeff Jobe; daughter, Greta Frye; son, William Keith Sanford and wife, Arlina; grandchildren, Mitch Frye, Anna Frye, Brooklynn White, Brittany Sanford, Hayden Walker, Katie Walker and Hannah Walker; and mother and father-in-law, Margaret and Donald Dean. The service will be at 11:00 a. m. on Friday, July 9, 2010 at Lewisville United Methodist Church with interment following at Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p. m. on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Vogler and Sons Clemmons chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial s be made to the American Children’s Home, P. O. Box 1288, 3488 Cotton Grove Rd., Lexington, NC 27293. (Vogler and Sons Clemmons Chapel)
