Betty Brown Wise

The nurse said she went very quietly and without pain. I know it’s what’s best for her and I promised her I will be strong but I’m going to miss her so much.

It was so great hearing all the staff at her place and her friends and family saying what I always knew about her. She had the most infectious laugh. She lit up any room she walked into. She always had the energy of a teenager up until the very end.

She was always the first in her office and made almost all As getting her Masters degree at Rollins, all while raising me and my step brother. As one of the strongest women I know (other than my Mom) said, “she had the ability to kick ass in a man’s world and had a huge streak of independence.” She excelled in her career at a time when it was extremely challenging for women.

She always helped anyone even some that did not deserve her time, but she never complained.

There is so much I want to say about Mom, but no words can really convey what a great woman, friend and Mother she was to many. She left a positive mark on many lives.

With all my love, I will miss my Mom but know I have the best guardian angel anyone could ask for.
