She was predeceased by her husband Alvin Andrews, Son James "Bodie" Hayes, Grandson Johnny Ladon Davis, Granddaughter Sherry Rene Davis
She is survived by Daughter Carolyn Hayes Biefreund, Son Gary Hayes, Son Richard Hayes, 6 Grandkids, 8 Great Grandkids, 9 Great Grandkids.
Granny enjoyed cooking for the entire family, baking, gardening and seeing her growing family as often as she could. She came to the Winter Garden area just under 60 years ago with a job as a citrus packer. She met the man who would become her second husband there while raising 4 kids on her own. She found her job for retirement at Martin Marietta with a job of micro soldering microchips into several of our Nation's defense missiles and held that job for around 30 years. In her younger days she was a pretty good basketball player in school and later played Softball with just as much passion.
She was a very kind, strong woman who always put her family before herself. As the family grew she would accept into our circle friends that became family and they were also allowed to call her granny. She would always make more than enough food for her and the family she planned to feed but if more showed up she would cook more to make sure everyone did not leave hungry. Dinner at Granny's became a part of life for us all to enjoy and also was a time where Granny would let us know where she stands on how we were doing. She had a dog named Bandit that was her baby and she would make daily trips to the grocery store for his food. She also had a "whop em stick" that was just a loving threat to warm up the kids' butts if they got out of line. This stick became almost a thing of legend around the family as she always had it near her. She would often just sit on her front porch just to see live go by in the home she had lived for most of her adult life. Often if someone needed help she would counsel them in her special way at the same time reach in her pocket book or reach for her checkbook. Helping those around her was also part of her nature, she could not let someone go in need if she could help it. Her kind but firm demeanor was well known and respected in her home, even if her pet monkey Luther did accidentally get more beer than she would of liked and destroyed her window dressings. Her adversity in life molded her into a strong, loving, kind and well-grounded woman that would never take the Lord's name in vein and gave her the strength to never show despair or pain to her family.
