Dudley Louis Clyatt

Dudley is survived by his wife, Billie Austin Clyatt; daughter Lisa Clyatt Terrusa (Thomas), son Dudley Clyatt, Jr. (Pamela), all of Winter Garden; grandchildren Erik Fleming of Orlando, Elisabeth Fleming Nice (Kiel) of Winter Garden, and Stephen Fleming of Orlando. He has two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Dudley Lindsey Clyatt and Christine Powell Clyatt of Winter Garden.

Dudley was born on May 20, 1943, in Orlando, Florida. He graduated in 1961 from Lakeview High School, where he played football for the Red Devils. He married Billie Austin, his high school sweetheart, in 1963. Dudley began working for Florida Telephone as a lineman and advanced to the engineering department during his time there. He later became a nurseryman and operated Redwing Nursery for many years. His children knew him as a loving dad who worked hard and laughed often.

He was an active man who enjoyed sports, particularly football, and played softball well into his 60s. Dudley loved the Lord; he was a devoted member of Beulah Baptist Church for most of his life, and of Fellowship Bible Study Church in recent months. As a life-long resident of Winter Garden, he had countless friends. He loved people, talked to everyone, and never met a stranger in his life.

The funeral is scheduled for 11:00 am, Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at Family Christian School’s Worship Center in Oakland, Florida. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, prior to the service. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Dudley’s life.
