Jeremie became a part of our Key West family, and his talent & incredible personality left an indelible mark on our Island!🌴

Talking online with him and talking about how we met in choir and how much I had a crush on him and how much he made me laugh but just being a good friend and the last time we met in high school and I am surely going to miss him 

It’s been an incredibly long time since we sang together in choir and were leads in the school play at Harrison. It’s wonderful to know you continued to surround your life with your love of music. I’m so sorry to hear of your passing. Keeping your wife and entire family in my prayers. God bless. 

Dear Jeremie,
Today is your Celebration of Life and it's still so surreal to me that you've left this Earthly plane. I have so many fond memories with you. Outside of our crazy party stories, you connected with me on a very deep level during some dark times. I don't know that I ever expressed to you how much your kindness and empathy for my circumstances meant to me. I seriously thought I was loosing my mind for a minute. Thanks to your friendship, I was able to stay grounded enough to see through all the crazy making goin' on. We talked a lot about religion, philosophy, family and what it means to be "in love" and to be loved. You helped me sort through a lot of messiness in my life so I could make better decisions for myself with regards to love and what it means to love myself. Not so surprisingly, laws of attraction attracted your beautiful wife Ann to you. Being able to witness you falling in love with someone who loved you in the very ways you coached me to be open to was incredible and very empowering! I am forever grateful for your friendship Jeremie. You will always have a very special place in my heart.

My prayers today are for your family, friends and your beloved Ann that they/we may all find peace and comfort in your passing. Your presence here on earth blessed us all with so much love and joy! I hope I can do the same. Until we meet again...

Scott and I were just completely shocked and heartbroken to hear of Jeremie's passing, and I haven't been able to stop thinking about him since then.  When I close my eyes, all I can see is his amazing smile.  I feel so privileged to have been graced by it.  And so incredibly lucky to have heard his beautiful voice so many times.  Working at a dueling piano bar for many years, I saw my share of players, but I can honestly say he was the best I've ever seen.  I'm so glad I got to see him play again last year.   I love how everyone has a favorite song they liked to request from him; mine is "Here I Go Again."  No one will ever sing it for me like he did.  He will be deeply missed.

The Delta Crown Room bathroom story.  The time we were at the bar down the street when we realized we were supposed to be on stage.   Waiting in line at midnight to see movies.  Going to LA Fitness in Wellington three days a week.   This is hardly the tip of the iceberg.  We laughed at everything.  

How does one choose a favourite memory with Jeremie?  He always knew how to put the biggest smile on my face, no matter how bad of a day I was having, whether it was him giving me one of his big smiles from behind the piano when he saw me in the crowd at Howl at the Moon, people watching in the guest club after the show, or having drinks in his or Jim's cabin and them sharing their crazy stories! 
I remember one night I made the mistake of telling Jeremie and Jim that I can do the cups song and to my horror, had me do it in front of all the guests the following week!! I was terrified, but had so much fun! 
I had the privilege of meeting Ann when she came cruising and I was so excited to share a bit of my home with them while we were in Palma de Mallorca, taking them to the South African restaurant there! Jeremie was always up to trying something new and embraced it with open arms!! 
I am sad that I never got the chance to come and visit you and Ann, but I am so thankful for the time I was able to spend with you!! Thank you for everything!! <3

Walking in Memphis will forever remind me of you and whenever it plays I will turn up the volume, sing along and think of you!

It breaks my heart the world will never hear him play music again. We kept saying we were going to meet up and catch up. Then COVID hit and we put it off and put it off. Now I wish we hadn’t. Jeremie was a great human. His smile and music electrified the room. Grateful to have known him and to have the memories of him playing at our wedding. 

Jeremie was such a great performer. I loved watching him do a show, he could get any crowd going from quiet to screaming the lyrics to The Little Mermaid. I met him and his wife Ann at Blue Moon dueling pianos a few years ago with my now fiance Juan. Him and Ann were so kind, funny, and inviting that night. When they moved to Florida I was so excited for them. I remember my favorite memory of Jeremie was in early 2020 when I was visiting family in Florida and we went to see Jeremie at a new piano bar he was working at with my best friend Hannah. We all listened to him play. I got up and requested The Little Mermaid song so Hannah and Jeremie could sing it together. Hannah had no idea and when Jeremie called her name up to the stage she was not happy because she isn't a pop star singer. Jeremie was playing and singing and eventually coaxed Hannah into singing full verses of this song. And that was Jeremie. He could turn anyone's day around with his song, the performance, and his smile. He will be truly missed by so so many people that he touched throughout his life. Everytime I see a piano I will be reminded of him. 

Maltoke Family.  My Family is so very sorry for incredible loss.   Such a generous, genuine, talented soul!  I will never forget the first time he told me how your family remembered to say our last name “Lose-your-house-key”.  We were about 18 and seeing each other frequently at open houses as all of us cousins were graduating about the same time.  Jeremie had an amazing love of life that was infectious and eagerly shared anything he could (time, home,etc) with those around him.  Our world has lost a true shining gem! 

I never had a brother growing up but that all changed when I met Jeff and Jeremie in the 2nd grade. Jeff and I quickly became best buds and Jeremie was like a little bro to me. I watched them fight like cats and dogs. They were very different but had a respectful rivalry that was enjoyable to me. He'll always be the brightest star and sorely missed. Love ya little bro and my heart goes out to my 2nd family the Malotkes.

Our hearts and prayers  go out to you. He brought you so much happinesss,  as reflected in all the pictures posted. He was talented and fun to be around. I’m so sorry this happened. This is so shocking to me.   My thoughts are with his parents and family.  

I had the opportunity to meet Jeremie on one of NCL cruises with my husband Dave Roberts and Desiree Irwin. We were in Costa Maya in these pictures. It was a beautiful day sipping beer and doing a few tequila shots! RIP Jeremie

Jeremie and John played my wedding in 2007. My husband and I didn’t have a lot of “plans” for this small informal wedding, but we knew beyond a shadow of a doubt we wanted them to play for us. We had such a good time. They made it so memorable for us. We went to 88 keys after the reception and partied all night (like we did most weekends). We were in 88 keys so much that we became friends with those that worked there. If I wasn’t quite in the mood to sing and dance I would look at Jeremie and his smile…. It was so big and bright…. And I couldn’t help but get in the mood. That smile was infectious and you couldn’t help but smile when he did. I have so many pictures and videos from our time there and now I’m so thankful for them. Ann, Jeremie was truly one of a kind and know you’ll dance and sing together again one day. 

We once went on a cruise with a bunch of Dueling Pianos players. Jeremie and I were cabin mates. OH what a time. He hated Ax Body Spray. I used to spray it in the cabin and then shut the door to mess with him. From then on we would give each other Ax body spray as gag gifts or at shows and spray each other. He will be deeply missed by many around the country and parts of the world. 

The rotating christmas is what comes first, and 'getting to play in the basement '.  In addition to Jimmy, I learned nintendo from Jeffrey and Jeremie during these times. 

Jeremie was my sponsor for catholic school and confirmation.   On his drive up to us in Hadley/metamora there was a sign stating 'speed limit ends'. He took that literally and ripped off to 80mph+. Then he found our dirt roads. Next time he drove the speed limit. He was an example for me in many ways. I will miss him.

Oh so many memories with both Jeremie and Ann.   I met them at the Blue Moon in West Des Moines IA.   Ann and I were a staple at the end of the bar while Jeremie played his heart out.   I would get a text from Jeremie on Fridays to let me know to save a seat for Ann beside me.    He would always say Ann needs some Jay time when I knew he wanted me to sit with her so nobody would bother her.     His love for Ann was very apparent to everyone that spent time around them.    I will cherish all the memories.   You will be missed but never forgotten! xoxo Jay 

We met Jeremie going to Hugh J’Organs every weekend. He was a such a great human. He will be greatly missed. We haven’t seen each other in many years but I would keep in contact with him. He will be playing for the angels now. I will hold all the great memories I have of him a little closer now. This is my husband with him

I really appreciate your time and effort  you  were such a good friend to me and I was going to come to see you again and then I heard that you had passed away so I am going to miss you and may you rest in peace 

Jeremie made me feel like a million bucks when he showed interest in my crazy sci-fi ideas and one of my first publications. Following my and wife's visit to one of his shows, he invited us to hang with his fellow musicians to wind down and simply be social. In the process we became friends with him and his friends. We couldn't have asked for a better evening. Top-notch individual with a huge heart. May the next part of your journey be amazing!

We loved his enthusiasm in music and his wonderful personality. He will be sorely missed, but we know he'll bless the heavens with music!

I remember how he loved superhero’s. We saw Him and Ann at the Movies and we sat  and watched a superhero movie with you both. I’m so glad we got to see you two at your wedding. Such a beautiful and happy time. We missed you when you moved to Florida. He had the best smile and will be missed dearly.

I know my parents welcomed you with open arms, Jeremie, even though it was way too soon for you to go up there. 

May you rest in peace and know that we will all see each other again...one day.

Jeremie was way to young to leave us.  He was so talented and loved to entertain. everyone.   He was an awesome chef too and always fixing Ann the best meals.  He makes a mean baked cod :)  He was so good to his step-children especially George showing him patience and kindness in every way.  He will be deeply missed!  Love you so much Ann!  May God wrap his arms around you and help you through this tragic  time.

Jason and I randomly met Jeremie in line to check our bags for a flight from Florida to Iowa. In casual chatting, he mentioned that he played piano at Blue Moon in West Des Moines. We planned our 1st Anniversary party and started the evening off at Blue Moon, where Jeremie was playing that night (where this picture was taken.) There are so many things that we could say about how charming, friendly, and fun he was, but it seems kind of small considering that we didn't really know him well. All the same, our hearts are heavy, and we are devastated to hear of his passing. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest  condolences are with his family, friends, and loved ones.

Jeremie was loved by my whole family! He ALWAYS had such a great sense of humor. You never saw him without a smile on his face. What a great Musician as well. We will miss him so much!! May he R.I.P

Jeremie and I were very close friends since we first met in music industry (2006ish). We traveled the world together and share countless memories. I have been with him through many of his ups and downs in life  and I am so happy to see him back in Florida and how truly happy he is with Ann.  It is hard to process that he’s not here anymore. I feel him all around and hear his voice in so many songs. I feel like I’ve lost my witness to some of the wildest and fun times of my life. I’ve lost one of my favorite people to perform with. I’ve lost a best friend. He was always there for me and always willing to lend a helping hand in whatever that may be. I was supposed to be performing with him this weekend and still can’t believe he won’t be on stage with me. 

My condolences to everyone he was close with. He had a way of lighting up a room and making people smile. I know that will leave a huge hole for so many people. I will use his memory and talent to pay that forward in his honor going forward with my shows. I’m am so sad you’re gone,Jeremie. Your legacy will last longer than all of us. Rest In Peace my brother. You’ll not be forgotten. 

My condolences to Jeremie's family and his wife. Too soon to go. I've known Jeremie since Junior High. He was also our paperboy at that time. We went to High School together and he was such a sweet talented person.  After high school, friends of ours would watch him perform at Goodfellas Dueling Piano Bar and also enjoyed going on stage to sing along with him. He will be missed by many and I'm sure his legacy will live on as his life was well lived. 

Too many memories to choose from in my 20 years or so of knowing Jeremie. From our first weekend ever playing together in Delray Beach, FL in 2003, to our recent gigs in Des Moines, IA  prior to pandemic shutdown in late 2019.

Many inside jokes…..too many…..and some that are so coarse that not only can I not recant them here,  I think I am still blushing from initial delivery. Aforementioned coarse humour always delivered with the trademark Jeremie Cheshire Cat grin. 

We were buds. Lifetime buds. We didn’t speak much in between gigs, but we stayed in touch when it counted. I’ll miss his friendship and already miss him dearly.

I remember a night when Jeremy was play a piano bar in novi. Me and my friends went to see him. Because I play drums Jeremy asked me to come on stage to play drums. On the song separate ways by journey. It’s a fond memory I won’t forget. It showed how humble he was to share the stage. RIP Jeremy Melotke my your memories live on in me forever

I remember staying the night at Jeremie's house the night before our ACTs in high school.  He was playing keyboard late into the night and we were talking about music.  Then we shifted to talking about philosophy and talked until literally 5:00 AM....  Hours later, we went in to take our ACT tests on no sleep.  We both did really well on them despite feeling like garbage.  That is kind of a snapshot of life back then and Jeremie's carefree attitude.  But for him carefree did not mean failure as he had natural talent.

I took this picture of Jeremie and Chris Hatfield in 2014 at the Blue Moon in Des Moines. He was a great guy and entertainer and did the best "Little Mermaid" of anyone I ever saw.
