Lisa Frances Barron, of Winter Garden, Florida sadly passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025 at the age of 56 from a battle with cancer. She was born in Independence, Missouri, to Thomas Urness and Neva Cardenas.
Lisa graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, with her bachelor’s degree in political science and went on to receive her master’s degree in business from Theseus International Management Institute, that was located in Sophia Antipolis, France.
Lisa had many passions in her life, but what she loved the most was spending time with her family, especially traveling with them internationally, actively going to Disney and Universal, watching movies, enjoying musical concerts, and she was an excellent writer and painter. In Iceland, she was able to enjoy the aurora borealis that she always wanted to witness. She loved seeing launches from Cape Canaveral as well. She was also proud of her Native American heritage and is enrolled in the Kiowa tribe.
Lisa was a Director of Development for various non-profit organizations, where through her career she raised millions of dollars for them. She also directly organized and collaborated to have thousands of young children in Louisiana receive free vital dental care. Lisa was also involved in international relations. For many years, through one of the U.S. Department of State’s diplomatic programs, she hosted multiple dinners for official visitors from countries throughout each part of the world.
Most of all, Lisa was very joyful, kind, diplomatic, helpful, lovely, and of course always smiling. Lisa was preceded in death by her brother, Eric Urness. She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Barron, Sons; Julian, Alexander and Robert Barron, Brothers; Michael (Darla) Cardenas, Robert and Steven Cardenas, Terry (Evelyn) Urness, Curtis M. (Jolene) Urness, and Chris Urness. She is also survived by multiple Nephews and Nieces (and their children), along with more family and friends to cherish her memory.
A Celebration of Life for Lisa will take place on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke's United Methodist located at 4851 S Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando, Florida 32819.
For Lisa, Andrew Prior of the T12 Clan
In Sophia’s sun beneath the pines,
Where minds once sparked and hearts entwined,
You walked with grace, a soul so bright—
A flame that warmed, that gave us light.
A smile that lit the darkest day,
A heart so kind, it led the way.
In every room, you made us feel
That care and strength were just as real.
From many lands we came as one,
To learn, to lead, to dream, become.
But you, dear Lisa, stood apart—
With steady soul and open heart.
Though cancer came with shadowed wings,
You still found joy in simple things.
With courage vast and love so wide,
You walked the path with quiet pride.
You leave behind a woven thread—
Three sons, a love, a life well-led.
And we, your T12 clan, now hold
Your memory like molten gold.
Our leadership circle still stands strong,
Though one of us has journeyed on.
And in the stillness, we will see
Your smile, your kindness—always free.
