Wendell was born in Kingston, Jamaica on December 16th, 1931. He was married to Janet Campbell and from this union they had four daughters.
Wendell initially worked as a shoemaker and later had a career as a chef for the CBS network in NY City and Tavern on the Green in Central Park NYC. He then relocated the family to south Florida where he worked as a chef for Morrison Cafeteria.
Wendell was a devoted member of St. John United Methodist Church and had a passion for Jesus Christ where he sang in the male choir. Everyone who met him loved his smile and welcoming nature.
Wendell was preceded in death by, his brothers Stedman, Phillip, and Rudolf, sisters Violet, Mertilyn, Dorothy, and Cynthia.
Wendell is survived by his family-Janet, Daughters-Maria (Alfred Sr.), Dahlia, Joan, Jennifer, Grandchildren-Alfred, Jr. & Portia, Great grandchildren-Teighlor & Kyle, Sisters-Ruth and Adlyn (Cherry), Nieces-Pamela, Carol (Lincoln), Yvonne (Michael), Dianne, Carlene, Marcia, Sandra, Curlene, Sharon, Joy, Norma (Derris), Marva (Enos), Nephews-Michael & Peter, and a host of 30+ grandnieces, grandnephews & great-grandnieces and great grand-nephews.
