Anne is survived by her daughter Lisa Windham Rawls, son-in-law Dan Rawls, granddaughter Lauren Amelia Rawls of Winter Haven, her son Stephen Windham of Durham, North Carolina, and her former spouse Julius Windham of Winter Haven. She is also survived by her sister Beverly Johnson of Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho, her sister Barbara Boyd, and brother-in-law, Mark Boyd, of Asheville, North Carolina. She is preceded in death by her father Dr. Benjamin Joseph Bond and her mother Amelia “Sis” Bond.
Anne was born on May 30, 1939 in Winter Haven, Florida. She graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1957 and attended the University of South Carolina earning a degree in English Education. She married Julius Windham in 1964 and taught English at Westwood Middle School for two years. After raising her family, Anne worked for many years as the Administrative Assistant for the Dean of Math, Science and Health at Polk State College. She retired from Polk State in 2006.
Anne was most at home while working in her yard. Neighbors would always wave when they saw her out weeding, trimming, or mowing. She also enjoyed spending time with her pets and took them for walks around the neighborhood regularly. Anne was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Winter Haven. She was involved in many activities at the church and most recently devoted her time and efforts to caring for the church’s Memorial Garden. She served as a parent volunteer for the Winter Haven Youth Symphony and the Winter Haven High School Band.
Her memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 PM, Sunday, October 11th at First Presbyterian Church, Winter Haven followed by a reception.
