Gainesville - Mrs. Audrey Sears, age 97, of Gainesville, FL died Thursday, October 21, 2010. She was born October 10, 1913 in Gallia, Ohio the daughter Elmer and Verna (Boster) Thornton. She moved from Winter Haven to Gainesville in 2003. She was a member of Hope Presbyterian Church. She taught school in Ohio and was a substitute school teacher in Winter Haven.
Mrs. Sears was married to her husband John W. Sears on December 25, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1999. She was also predeceased by a son Jay Sears in 1997 and her brothers Vance and Omar Thornton.She is survived by her daughter Joy Rohan of Gainesville, FL, brother Wayne Thornton and his wife Mary, grandchildren Jenna NesSmith and Gregory Rohan, and great grandson Ethan NesSmith.
Visitation is Monday, October 25, 2010 from 1-2 pm at Ott-laughlin Funeral Home, 645 West Central Avenue, Winter Haven, FL with Funeral Serices folowing at 2:00 pm. Burial to follow in Lakeside memorial Park, Winter Haven, FL.
