

Mary Kay Marshall, 86, passed away on Oct. 6, 2013 at Spring Lake Rehab Center in Winter Haven due to respiratory failure. She was born on April 21, 1927 in Wheeling, WV. She graduated from Sherard High School in Wheeling. She met her husband, Challis, in Ohio in 1941, and she moved to Winter Haven in 1946. They were married on June 7, 1947, while attending Florida Christian College in Tampa. She was instrumental in starting and worked with WHHS Band Booster Club. She was also a past member of Lake Region Yacht and Country Club, and the Nine Holers Women’s Golf Group, a den mother for cub scouts, a member of Central Church of Christ, a member of the Florida Club, a member of Gator Boosters, and a big contributor to the Gator Nation.
Mary Kay was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was survived by her husband of 66 years, Challis Marshall, two sons, Larry Marshall (Candy) and Rick Marshall (Pat), and three grandchildren, Matthew, Dustin, and Courtney.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 10th, from 10 to 11 with a service following at 11. Both will be held at Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home in Winter Haven.
