Nancy E. Aley, 87, passed away on March 22, 2018 in Winter Haven, FL. She was born in Fairmont, WV on July 10, 1930. She met the love of her life, Charles, 70 years ago when she was 17 years old and they have been together ever since that day, marrying on November 21, 1951. Charles served honorably in the U. S. Navy on board the USS Everglades (AD 24) during the Korean War and Nancy was a proud military wife. They were residents of Orange Park, and lifelong fans of The University of Florida. She and her husband, Charles, were founding members of the Clay County Gator Club. They eventually moved to Gainesville to patronize nearly every type of Gator sporting event.
Mrs. Aley was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. Aley Jr., and a daughter, Sharon Aley Lyons.
She is survived by her son, Charles “Chuck” L. Aley III, son-in-law, Phil Lyons, grandchildren; Morgan Aley Lisby, Philip Lyons, Victoria Lyons Mack, Austin Lyons, and Wayon Walker, brother, Bill Evans, and sister-in-law, Pat Evans.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 28, from 1 – 2 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Rivermead Funeral Home with a graveside service following at Jacksonville Memory Gardens, both in Orange Park, FL.
