Hey baby doll! I searched for you for years! Only to find you late and that you are with the Lord ! I so remember us in Palm Place playing with our dolls and going to school together @ Brigham Elementary School then. Being with each other everyday! You never got tired of me! In fact we got in trouble so much because our mothers had to look for us! You radiated my life!You said my name like I was someone famous, but every time I saw you I screamed like you was a celebrity to me and that’s how I felt about you! I’m so sorry I couldn’t get to see you before your departure, but I’m sure I will see you again!

Auntie its still unreal that you are gone. My heart aches everyday day. I will always cherish the memories that we shared together. I love you so much. I am very honored that I got to call you my aunt. Even though I wish you were here I no that God needed you more. I am very proud of you. WELL DONE BABY 😘😭🙌

The moment that you died my heart was torn in two, one side fill with heartache the other side die with you. I often lie awake at night when the world is fast asleep, and take a walk down memory lane, with tears upon my cheeks Remembering you is easy I do it every day but missing you is heartache that never goes away.  My sister I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will always remain. Until the joyous day arrives that we will meet again my dear. 

My beautiful cousin you were soo sweet and kind to everyone and I've always admired you.  Even in your last days you always had a positive attitude every day I asked Robyn how were you doing... Im going to miss you rest in peace cousin I love you.. -from your little cousin and big cousin mouse.

I am glad God presented the opportunity for my husband and I to meet, eat, dance, and fellowship with Nekia in California.  We all witnessed her joyful spirit, which poured into us and the atmosphere.  Thank you God, and thank you Nekia for the gift of Joy, and to the family our prayers are with you, so please know that she is with God high in the heavens and God is with you.

Kia,
 I dont know where to start. The last time we saw one another was in 1993. After graduation our adult lives began and I moved away. Then I hear about your illness and no matter how long its been, I felt a piece of me crumble. We've know one another since we were kids and I've always loved you as my friend and sister. 
I noticed that you and my daughter share the same birthday so that confirms why I loved u so much. You were a wonderful and pleasant young lady and Im blessed to have known you for so long. 
Now I attach the love I have for you to your beautiful wings to take with you.

My precious Kia😭 my little sister,  you were the fiesty one growing up in palm place. Oh the memories; one's i'll cherish.  
I already know momma Vern was waiting at the gates with arms wide open.  You'll be missed lil sister but no more pain.  Kiss momma Bert for me and we'll take care here until we all meet again😘

My sweet baby girl, I have so many memories that will keep me going until we meet again. You have taught and showed me the faith and love that you have for god. My faith and love for god has grown just by knowing you. And I thank you for this. I will truely miss our talks. Be free baby girl be free. 

Heaven gained an angel. A loving mother,wife,sister and friend.Loved and cared for everyone around her. An outgoing person. Kia ,you fought cancer and never gave up until the Lord said enough my daughter. I will truly miss you my friend😢 . I know you are in good hands and so I will not be sad anymore.Till we meet again.

Nekia was a true fighter. Never once complained of anything.  She always cared for everyone around her. She was a cheerful giver. Loving wife and mother to her babies. Oh Heaven has indeed gained an Angel. This was a tough one to loose you so young. I will truly miss you hun. Fly high my gal. Till we meet again. 

Such a sweet, kind, and gentle heart!  When I walked onto the floor where she worked, she always greeted me with a smile and a kind word.  She lived her faith, and I was blessed by her.

She is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband, Derek Evans of Fort Worth, TX, her son Najeh Lavon Johnson of Fort Worth, TX and daughter Ivy Patricia Evans of Fort Worth, TX, two step-sons Derek Evans Jr., and Amarran Evans and one grandchild, all of Jacksonville, FL, sisters and their spouses Ortancis Blake of Rialto, CA and Robyn (Que) Smedley-Horne of Winter Haven, FL as well as a hosts of friends, half-siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in law.
