

Richard M. Larrabee, 87, of Winter Haven, beloved husband of Carmela (Cardinale) died on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at home, due to heart failure. Born in Passaic NJ he resided in Moultonboro NH for many years before moving to Winter Haven. He served as a merchant mariner during WWII, seeing action in all theaters of the war. He spent his working years as the President of Van Canagan and Larrabee, a highly successful manufacturer's representative for numerous boat and marine equipment companies. He was active in the Boy Scouts, Little League, and was a member of the Moutlonboro Fire Department and served on the local school board. He held a private pilot's license, enjoyed golf, sailboat racing and gardening. He is preceded in death by his son Keith and his grandson Luke and survived by his six children, 11 grand children and twelve great grand children. Funeral services will be held at 10:30, Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Ott Laughlin Funeral Home, 645 West Central Avenue, Winter Haven, FL.
