

She is survived by her son Joe Cook (Janice), and her daughter Sue Cook; her four grandchildren: Cheryl Cook, Ruth Cook, David Cook (Teresa), Sean Cook (Molly); and, six great-grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.
A native of Florida and fifth of eight children of Euell (E.D.) Fussell and Lula V. Fussell (nee Rutledge), she had recently relocated to West Plains, Missouri, to be closer to her daughter.
She was an active member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, Michigan, where “Auntie Vi” was an integral part of the church, including the children’s ministry, for many years before retiring to Winter Haven. She continued her church work at Faith Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida, where she initiated the primary church program and worked in the Awana program and other children’s ministries until shortly before she moved to Missouri.
She attended Central Calvary Baptist Church in West Plains, Missouri, as often as her health would permit. She is preceded in death by her husbands Joe F. Cook (d. 1948) and LeRoy Doyle (d. 1986).
Services will be held at Faith Baptist Church in Winter Haven, Florida, on Monday, September 16, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., with internment to follow at Lakeside Memorial Park.
