

Wallace L. Knowles, age 89, of Winter Haven, Florida, entered into rest peacefully in his sleep surrounded by family on July 27, 2025. Born on July 8, 1936, he lived a full and remarkable life dedicated to his family, community, and country.
Wallace proudly served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Cold War Era. Following his service, he became the owner of Wally’s Mini Mart in Dundee, where he formed lasting relationships with countless members of the community.
On August 10, 1958, Wallace married the love of his life, Mary Helen Knowles (Cook). Wallace’s passions included hunting, fishing, storytelling, traveling—especially to Alaska—and spending time with his loved ones. He was also a member of Beymer United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Helen Knowles; daughters Debbie Hunt (Ellis Hunt, Jr.), Vicki Jarrell (Mike Jarrell), and Lisa Lagos (Jeff Lagos); grandchildren Mandee Mason (Michael Mason), Cassie Stidham, Maggie Kreulen (Kevin Kreulen), Clayton Jarrell, Casey Jarrell, Kevin Lagos, and Marisa Lagos; great-grandchildren Ava Mason, Emory Mason, and Hudson Stidham; brother Walter Knowles; sisters Charlotte Applegeet (Keith Applegeet) and Evelyn Herndon; sisters-in-law Jeanette Waters and Rose Cook; and brother-in-law John Macchione.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lowndes Knowles and Susie Knowles; brother Leroy Knowles; sisters Doris Henderson, Margie Feagle, Darlene Macchione, and Louise Wagman; brothers-in-law Nelson Cook, Tom Henderson, Billy Wagman, William Herndon, and Ed Feagle, as well as sister-in-law Jackie Knowles.
A viewing for Wallace will be held on Monday, August 4, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM at Beymer United Methodist Church 700 N Lake Howard Dr, Winter Haven, FL 33881 followed by a funeral service at 11:00. He will be laid to rest at Auburndale Memorial Park immediately following the service.
