A loving wife, mother, and sister, she is predeceased by her dear husband of 66 years, John T. Bluhm, and survived by her daughters Laura Bluhm and Julia Bluhm Kates (Patrick), and granddaughter Lillian Bluhm Kates. She was the beloved sister of Elaine Rosa (Steele), Elizabeth Perry (Steele), the late Margaret Meyer (Steele), and sister-in-law Viola Wolf (James). She also leaves several nieces, nephews, and their families.
Ann was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 23, 1931, to Agnes Steele (MacAfee) and David Steele. In her youth, she studied voice and loved singing. Ann started a varied career as a keypunch operator for Blue Cross. After raising her two daughters, Ann returned to the workforce as the office manager at Alpine Valley Ski Area. Ann found her true passion as a supervisor at Metzenbaum Center in Chesterland, Ohio, where she helped many people with intellectual disabilities live safe, meaningful, and joyful lives, as independently as possible.
Upon retirement, Ann and John followed their lifelong dream of traveling. They spent five years traveling North America in their Airstream before settling in Florida. They were also regular visitors to Disney World, where they enjoyed the shows and parades.
She will be remembered with love for her strength and kindness.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.baldwinfairchildgoldenrod.com for the Bluhm family.
