Bev was born on September 18, 1937, in Peoria, Illinois, to Beatrice “Bea” Lillian Cassidy and George Edwin Briggs. Throughout her life, she embraced her passions, faith, and family with unwavering devotion.
A dedicated professional, Bev worked as a Sales Manager at the Maitland Chamber of Commerce and served as an Events Manager at Steak and Ale in Altamonte Springs. She also held managerial roles at Giovanni’s Restaurant in Rockford, Illinois. Her career reflected her strong work ethic and ability to connect with people from all walks of life.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Bev found joy in reading Christian books, writing poetry—several of which were published—exercising on the treadmill, riding her tricycle, listening to Irish music, dining out, and spending peaceful moments at home with her beloved cats. She took great pride in her Irish heritage and cherished time spent with family and friends.
Bev was a woman of deep faith who loved God wholeheartedly. She adored her husband Ken and treasured their life together. Her love extended boundlessly to her children and grandchildren. She faced life's challenges with remarkable strength, having battled both breast cancer and colon cancer—and triumphing over them both. Known for her strong will and as a clumsy virgo, she brought warmth and kindness to everyone she met.
She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth “Ken” Wilson; son Deryk Erickson; daughter Chrissy Wilson and husband Nelson Bruno; stepson Thomas Wilson and wife Kimberley; nephew Scott Markuson and wife Joann; niece Wendy Fosberg; niece Deanne Harris; grandchildren Robin Bruno, Jonathan Bruno, Nathan Wilson, Claire Wilson, and Calvin Erickson. She was preceded in death by her son Brett Erickson; sisters Bonnie Briggs Markuson and Barbara Briggs Harris; and parents Beatrice Lillian Cassidy and George Edwin Briggs.
A memorial service to celebrate Bev’s life will be held on February 18, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Encounter Christian Church, located at 1140 S. Lakemont Ave., Winter Park, Florida 32792. A reception and fellowship will follow the service where friends and family are welcome to gather in remembrance of Bev’s life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations may be made in Bev’s honor to Vitas Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
Bev’s memory will live on through the love she shared with those around her. May she rest in peace knowing she was deeply cherished.
