Corinne "Chee-Chee" I. Olvey

Corinne I. “Chee Chee” Olvey, of Longwood, FL, passed away July 2, 2010 after battling a sudden onset of cancer. Corinne graduated from Winter Park High School, the University of Florida, and received her MBA from the University of Central Florida. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Oviedo, where she was a Sunday School teacher.

Corinne was the State-Wide Compliance Officer for SCI Funeral Services of Florida, Inc. She was a past-President of the Cremation Association of North America (CANA), past-President and current member of the Board of Directors of the Florida Cemetery, Funeral and Cremation Association (FCFCA). She was the Chairman of the Disciplinary Rules Committee and a member of the Trust Committee for the State of Florida Board of Funeral, Cemetery and Consumer Services. Corinne was one of the original employees of Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Homes and All Faiths Memorial Park.

Corinne is predeceased by her parents Charley Lester and Corinne Mildred Burkhard West. She is survived by her husband Doug Olvey; her son and daughter-in-law Marcus and Michelle Israel; her step-sons and daughters-in-law Jason and Whitney Olvey and Joe and Mercedes Olvey; her step-daughters and son-in-law Kimberly and Daniel Branscome and Stephanie Olvey. She is also survived by her brother Mick West; her mother-in-law Jennie Olvey; her grandchildren Samantha, Jack and Josie Olvey and nieces Jillian, Amber, and Miranda West; beloved pets Brandy, Boo, Scooter and Maukie.

Friends may visit at the Carey Hand Cox-Parker Funeral Home, 1350 West Fairbanks Avenue, Winter Park, Florida (407-647-1942), Thursday evening, July 8 from 4:00-7:00pm.

Funeral services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Oviedo, 263 King Street, Oviedo, Florida (407-365-3255), Friday, July 9 at 11:00am. Interment will follow in the Oviedo Cemetery.
