

Donald “Don” Richard Frye, Sr., 70, of Orlando, Florida, passed away, Sunday, February 26, 2017 surrounded by his family. Don was born January 27, 1947 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Homer and Irene Leifer Frye. His family moved to Orlando in 1952. He graduated from Colonial High School in 1965 and served 4 years in the US Army – Army Security Agency. Don had an extensive career in Law Enforcement up until he retired from the State of Florida in 1997. He had a passion for aviation and traveling. He also adored and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Don is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sylvia Frye, his daughter, Dana Frye Scutero and her husband Vito Scutero, his son Donald “Donnie” Richard Frye, Jr., his step-daughter Quinn Weichlei and her husband Brian, four grandchildren, John & Grayson Frye and Aubrie & Addison Scutero. He is also survived by his three sisters, Patty Weed, Darla Scott, and Jeannie Blanton and her husband Jerry, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Viewing for family and friends will be held from 3:00pm-7:00pm on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Baldwin-Fairchild Ivanhoe. The service will also be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Ivanhoe at 11:00am on Friday, March 3, 2017. Don will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL., following the service.
