Although we new Georgia for 13 years we were unable to spend quality time with her because we lived in different states.  The times we were together we found her to be warm hearted, kind and she was always smiling.  Her family came first.  For 7 years she dealt with her cancer with great diginity - she was very courageous and inspirational to those around her.  Georgia was a very special person and will be missed by all. We are gathered here in person and in spirit to celebrate the life of one of the most special inspirational people I’ve ever known.  I grasp in vain for words adequate to express my heartfelt feelings.  I am still stunned; the reality of losing our Georgia has not fully registered with me yet.  Georgia was a woman for all seasons; she was beautiful, always full of life, dedicated to her immediate loving family as well as to her extended family and friends.  She was always there to help anyone she became aware of who needed help.  She was a very talented hard worker who achieved in situations where most would have failed and done so without fanfare. Rich and I shall forever be grateful for the years that Georgia looked after our mom while she lived in Florida.

Georgia was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother second to none; she lived for her family.

Georgia, Ginny and Jean were more like sisters than cousins to Richie and I; we were a very close family.  We celebrated birthdays, anniversaries, Thanksgivings, and Christmases together. With the holidays upon us we’ll recall the priceless memories with Georgia we acquired over the years.

Georgia was so full of life and had an insatiable appetite for fun.  I don’t know how old we were at the time but, pre-teenagers for sure.  Georgia was caught by her father sneaking smokes in back of the garage.  Uncle Ed was irate and started a pursuit on foot to catch Georgia for a promised pants warming.  Georgia ran into Hadley;s  yard, our next door neighbor.  This yard was a maze of Ida Hadley;s clotheslines. While Georgia very nicely maneuvered below clothesline level, Uncle Ed was not so fortunate.  The pursuit ended when a clothesline connected just under the chin of Uncle Ed which resulted in him doing a back flip only matched by some tackles viewed in NFL today.  Georgia won the contest as she did most of the time.

She won battles in life that few can imagine.
She lit up the world and inspired those around with her physical presence and positive up-beat attitude regardless of the challenges she faced.

Mom loved to cook.  She watched all the cooking shows - she turned us on to Emeril, Paula Deen, Bobby 
Flay, even the Iron Chef!  She read cooking magazines and cookbooks, even recently got an early edition 
of the Joy of Cooking from the 1940's. 

She used these skills all the time, especially on special occasions like our birthdays.  Each of the
immediate family - Rich, Carol, Steve, Christy and Doug - would get their favorite meal made by Georgia 
on their birthday.  Rich and Steve's favorite is Georgia's "chicken and biscuits", with biscuits and gravy made
from scratch.  Carol's favorite is fried shrimp and onion rings.  Christy's is a chicken and sausage casserole 
made in individual ramekin dishes.   We all loved the other's favorites, so no matter whose birthday is was, 
we all won.

I can remember growing up and having friends over from high school or college and Mom would make sure
that there was plenty for everyone.  Some of these meals were legendary, with pounds of spaghetti, 
meatballs, sausage, garlic bread and cheesecake being eaten.  

Her cooking was also an expression of love for the people she worked with.  I remember growing up and 
my Mom was making something for the people she worked with at BellSouth.  She'd make them breakfast, 
tacos, hot chocolate, special desserts, etc., as a way of thanking them for their efforts.  It was 
amazing to hear how much her coworkers loved those acts of kindness.

We loved her recipes so much that we asked her to write them down so we could attempt to recreate her
best dishes.  She made two personal cookbooks for Christy and Carol, written in her own fantastic 
handwriting, that we will cherish. For Georgia, cooking was just another way to show how much she loved
the people in her life and we will miss those meals very much.

Thanks, Doug.  Thank you also for the loving care you've given Georgia for the past seven years, when she had one set back after another.  You were definitely her life-line the past few years.  I think she really missed you at Steve's, but Jean and I were so happy to see her and be able to hold her.  I felt some of her "be damned" attitude and her spark were waning, but she still seemed ready to take what ever was to be.We all will be with you in spirit at 11 on Saturday. I'm sorry to hear Georgia finally lost her battle with cancer. She was a wonderful and loving person and she touched many peoples lives with her kindness, I know she did mine. Every time I was around her, it was like catching a glimpse into heaven because she was just a pure joy to be around and so full of God’s love…what an inspiration. When I read this yesterday I was upset of course and knew that I needed to get in touch with as many as I could over here.  Im unsure if I responded to you and if I did not, I apologize.  Georgia was my best friend. No matter how much time would pass between phone calls or get togethers it was always as if we had talked the day before.  I will miss her.  Whether it was cooking, sewing, teaching, counciling, mama-ing, grandmama-ing, wife-ing or being a friend...SHE was the best.  I am thinking of you and the boys and their families.

My heart is with you.  I have been in cintact with Carol and I know you are busy but please let me know what the arrangements will be.  Georgia fought a strong and wonderful battle, she won in some regions and lost in others, but she always had a positive attitude, faith and I think that is why she went without pain.  God was with her.  I hope you are ok.  I know you are not but maybe time your children, grandchildren will help.  I also hope you know I will be there for you at any time.

These are the hardest times, I wish for you a peaceful heart and you all ready know how much love we have for you. With this great sadness, it comes to my mind I will always remember her laugh the most and how much she loved her family and life and her strong faith in God which also gave me hope. I remember coming to your house to visit when I was young and saw the kind of family you all had, and hoped that some day my family would be strong like yours. I saw the kind of parents you were to your kids and that's what I wanted to do for my own family and I can proudly say because of you both we have a strong family with lots of love. Thank you for being the positive role models I needed back then and all the years through and supporting me and our family celebrations it meant so much to all of us. I wanted you to know how much you have ment to me. I did get to tell Georgia when we got to visit with everyone for lunch, and I may have mentioned it before but I just wanted you to know you have ment a lot and we are thankful for the time we got to spend with you all. I can never begin to thank Rich and Steve for sharing their fabulous Mother with my sister, Carol.  They had many wonderful years together as Mother and daughter and for that I am eternally grateful.  Georgia was and is an inspiration as a Mother, Wife, Grandmother and Human Being. I feel sure nobody has ever had a friend as special as Georgia Hull.  She excelled in everything she did..cooking, needlework,sports,dancing, drama and craziness! She was a leader, teacher, sister, wife, mom and grandmom. She had spirit,team spirit...work spirit...family spirit..USA spirit and Holy Spirit. She was born with the friendship gene and shared it with everyone.  We could go for months without talking and then take right up where we left off.  She shared the darkest time of my life.  And through it all we performed insanely silly and hilarious songs and poems. She has laughed and cried with me..and I with her...Yes, I'm sure nobody has had a friend as special as Georgia Hull

I attendid the service today for Georgia and by far it was the BEST service I have even been to. Everyone who spoke knew her and how special she was to each and everyone of us, family,friend and even to people she had never met. I am eternally grateful for knowing her and I know she is now at peace in heaven. I must also say that my husband who did not know her felt like he knew her when the service was over.

Georgia was one of the most gracious, loving and kind women of faith that I have ever met.  As a friend of Georgia's at LifeSong church, I stood in awe of her grace as she battled this cancer and greatly admired her courage and faith through it all.  I will never forget her and I only hope that I will become as wonderful of a Christian woman as she was.  She will be dearly missed.  Praying for her beautiful family.

Words cannot describe how special Georgia was to our family.  My husband grew up spending as much time at her home as his own and loved her like a second mother.  We were fortunate to move to Orlando and she welcomed us into her life like her own family. I'm greatful for the time I got to spend with her. Georgia will never be forgotten and will be very missed!  We love you Georgia.

I have fond memories of Georgia at BellSouth as a lover of life, her family, friends and of a challenge.  She had a great sense of humor and was always a  delight to be around.  Rest in peace my friend!

I was blessed to have gotten to know Georgia through Bible study at Lifesong.  I truly admired her strength of faith and I know she was an inspiration to many of the women in the group.  I am praying for her family as you all journey through this difficult time.

When I first met Georgia in the 80's she always had a great sense of humor, upbeat, encouraging & of course a great cook. She has left behind so many wonderful memories & will be greatly missed.

Georgia you were a true inspiration to everyone you met. Your bubbling personality, your excitement for life and the love you had for your God, your family and your friends will never be forgotten. Your smile, your laugh and the special dance you used to do in the office will be memories I will carry with me forever. Heaven has been blesssed with a very special angel.

She was loud, she was brassy, she was full of energy, and you could hear her laugh three rooms away.  She was also warm and caring, and a wonderful Mom to her kids.  I have no idea how she put up with my brother all these years, but it turns out he was worth the investment:  in the end, a partnership much to be envied.   Farewell, sweet lady; whenever I eat Maine lobster or Cortese pizza, I will think of you.
