The Lord welcomed Georgia C. Smith, 94, into his eternal embrace on March 24, 2025 after a life filled with love, faith, and service. Georgia was born in Kentucky on August 28, 1930, and preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Ida Mae Copley, her husband, Eldon L. Smith, and her brother Don Copley.
Georgia was a strong supporter of the United Methodist Children’s Home and member of the Reeves United Methodist Church. Most of Georgia’s work life was spent as a bookkeeper at Glenridge Middle School. Georgia’s greatest joy in life was family. She loved reading, the intricate art of knitting afghans, and the simple pleasure of lending a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Whether preparing a homemade meal or caring for others in time of sickness, she gave selflessly and with a heart full of love.
Georgia is survived by daughters, Lisa S. Langmo and Lori S. Garner (Trip); grandchildren, Jacqueline Langmo, Christopher Langmo (Kaitlin), Rachel Garner and Benjamin Garner; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Enterprise United Methodist Children’s Home, now called Residing Hope (www.residinghope.org).
Services will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Funeral Home Goldenrod/Winter Park at 7520 Aloma Ave, Winter Park, FL 32792 on April 12, 2025 at 3:00pm gathering with family and 4:00pm Memorial Services.
