Glenn Alvin Rhoads, 87, of Winter Park, Florida, passed away June 25, 2019. He was born in a farm home near Burlington, Kansas in 1931. He served in the Navy during the Korean War and worked many years for Florida Gas Transmission Company. He earned a Bachelor of Engineering degree from what is now the University of Central Florida by taking night courses while working full-time. He and his wife Myrtle were active members of Trinity Lutheran Church until moving elsewhere during retirement. They returned to Winter Park, and Trinity, in 2018. Glenn often expressed gratitude for his redemption by Christ, and that each of his children share the blessings of faith.
Glenn is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Myrtle Rhoads; children Lynda (David) Galik, Mark (Michele) Rhoads, Jane (Mark) Chamberlain and John Rhoads; six grandchildren, Lisa (Peter) Surprenant, Michael Galik, Kristina Alvarado, Katelyn Alvarado, Joshua Rhoads and Elizabeth Chamberlain; three great-grandchildren, Estella, Giovanni, and Elisa Martinez; and brothers Sid, Jerry, and Jon.
