

Jeffrey Lynn Matthew, age 66, passed away peacefully at the Hospice of the Comforter, Altamonte Springs, Florida, Monday, December 19, 2016. Born in Webster City (Hamilton County), Iowa, the son of William Lynn and Elizabeth Ann Lewis Matthew, he was a longtime resident of Altamonte Springs, Florida. His parents moved from the Midwest when he was a young boy. He lived and worked in Tampa for many years before moving to the Orlando area in 1988. Jeffrey graduated from the Dunedin High School in 1968 and was Captain of their football team from 1967-68. He attended the University of Tennessee in 1970 and graduated from USF in Tampa in 1972 with a degree in Sociology. Jeff was a Sigma Nu. He was a Commercial Real Estate Broker. Jeffrey is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Dr. William B. Lewis and Dr. Faye Cashatt Lewis, (the first woman to graduate from Washington Medical School, St. Louis, Missouri) of Webster City, Iowa; his paternal grandparents, Rev. Oscar Matthew and Clara May Price Matthew of Hutchison, Kansas. Jeffrey is survived by his wife of 31 years, LuAnne W. Matthew; his children Jill Bechtold, Amy Matthew and Ryan Croley; his grandchildren, Robert Bechtold, Lily Bechtold, Ryan Croley, Jr., and Raegan Lynn Croley. He is also survived by his brothers Bill Matthew (Georgene, Benjamin, Jessica) (California), Sidney Matthew (Linda, Jennifer and Jeff, Lauren and Tyler, Geoffrey and Kimberly, Skylar, Mackenzie, and Sydney) (Tallahassee) and Tim Matthew (Christopher, Andrew) (Tampa), and his brother-in-law Richard J. Walsh of Orlando. Jeffrey is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
