

He was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Oct. 13, 1941, where he grew up with his parents and two sisters, Virginia and Mary.
He graduated from Thomas Edison High School, where he met his wife of 64 years, Catheryn Hoffman Wegeman. They moved to Florida in 1972, where they raised their family and made Florida their second home. He enjoyed boating and skiing on Florida's many beautiful lakes, working on his yards, and going to Gun Shows on weekends where he manufactured and sold rifle cases and holsters. Again, never ceasing to work.
He was married to Catheryn Hoffman on November 12, 1960. They were high school sweethearts.
Johnny worked hard all his life in sales and was very successful in the Custom Picture Framing industry, Distributorship of supplies, parts, machinery and service to that industry. He covered Florida, Alabama and Georgia and traveled much of that time. He loved his job and looked forward always to meeting his customers/friends.
His love and passion in life was the vacation home he had built in Hiawassee, Georgia, with the headwaters of the Hiawassee River flowing through the back of the property. The family spent most vacation days in one of the most beautiful spots in the North Georgia mountains, where countless family memories were made.
He was a Catholic and followed Jesus Christ.
He was passionate about work, never wasting precious time in idleness. Daylight hours were especially never wasted.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny E. Wegeman, his mother, Ella Nora Ebner Day, his sister, Mary Sprowl.
He is survived by his wife, Catheryn Inez Wegeman, his daughter Darla Kay Williamson (Larry), his son, Johnny E. Wegeman, Ill, his son Chad Eric Wegeman (Betsy), his granddaughter, Heather Nichole Leader (Joshua), his grandson, Devin Michael Wegeman, his granddaughter, Makenna Lynn Wegeman, his great grandson Isaiah Nicholas Leader, his great grandson, Dylan Joshua Leader, his great grandson, Blake Hudson Leader.
He is also survived by his sister, Virginia Rabel and her three children, Deborah Bauml (Robert), Gregory Rabel (Denise) and Cassandra Cathy Rabel, his God Daughter. Also surviving from his sister Mary, is nephew Charles Sprowl, niece Gwendolyn Melo (Alex) and niece Genia Sprowl Clautier (Thomas) and countless great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral arrangements will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 994 E. Altamonte Dr., Altamonte Springs, Fl 32701 at 2PM on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
